Hi again – I have broken ALL THE BLOGGING RULES!  Please read on!

So to continue on from my last blog…..the newspaper article got me thinking about what I had (or more to the point, hadn’t achieved) over the past twelve months. Not a heck of a lot to tell you the truth.  I have had a couple of sales, set up a few websites and built a very small list of less than 50 people.  I admit that I haven’t spent every free moment focused on my goal but the Headliners did say “Follow these steps and the money will role on in…..”

Unfortunately, I did and guess what?…..the money didn’t.  I don’t know how much I spent on e-books and other plans and promises…..most were just the same old garbage told a different way but by the time I spent $30 to get the information, it was too late!

I am now at the point of saturation, I need to go out into the sun and dry off a bit!  I need to focus on a simple plan and forget about trying to be good at EVERYTHING and trying to make money with EVERY NEW IDEA that floats into my Outlook Account!  IT IS NOT WORKING!

So I looked at what I didn’t know or had struggled with….

I needed a website that was quick and easy to set up and therefore to easy to repeat.  I was struggling to put a website together and get it up working fast.  Sure there were free sites, but with these sites come rules and regulators who can shut you down in ten seconds flat.  Not fun when you have spent 10-20 hours setting things up (come on Guru’s, be realistic about setup times for newbies and the computer illiterate!).  I need someone to show me the nuts and bolts of web building for internet marketing and affiliate marketing.

I needed a product!  Now, I do know that there are a lot of free products out there and that if I was going to make money online then I needed to ‘create’ my own unique product in my own niche market.  Affiliate marketing is easy to get into but very competitive, but I am not a big fan of article writing and selling e-books but I am willing to try. I do like physical products but setting up a large site to promote these would be a huge ask and setting up the online banking system could be way above me.   I needed someone to help me with both as I am a believer of not having all my eggs in one basket.

I needed to build a list!  Every guru will tell you that you need a list, and a big one, if you are going to be successful at internet marketing or affiliate marketing.  I can tell you this, I have tried and tried and tried to build a list of my own.  I have done the ‘go to a forum answer a few questions and they will come!’ system and the PPC system (very costly, I do not recommend this for newbies at all!), the blog system etc etc etc.  I needed someone to teach me his secrets to building a list…..fast!

 I needed someone to show me how they do it in a step by step way as I like this method of teaching.  I don’t like to see it written up on the blackboard (showing my age) I like to have someone there walking me through each step, pausing, letting me do it and then moving to the next step.

I am glad to say that I have found not one, not two but three ‘guru’s’ whose training packages does just this.  Two of them are better and easier to follow, but the third was really in depth and includes his tools that he uses at no extra cost.  The third has also blown me away with the freebies and PLR (Private Label Rights) articles and websites!

 The other two guys systems and tools are all available online and setting up my first site took me a good 3-4 hours (not the 30 minutes they promoted but with practice I will get it down to this) between watching the videos, pausing, doing, pausing, watching etc etc….but I got it done and the site actually looked like the sites that these guys were putting together!  FANTASTIC!!!  Still some work to do but check it out here!

So now that I have found them, I want to share them with YOU!

So there we have it!  A plan, a combination of ‘guru’s’ to get me to my goal of financial independence and freedom.  I have two years to get there and I am starting with a $500 budget.  I want to be making $100 each week within two months, $500 per week within six months building up to $1000 per day after 24 months!  That’s $365,000 per year of passive income and……well…… I can live with that!

Today I read an interesting article in the newspaper.  It had to do with how we are setting our goals and reading all the latest motivational articles and books like ‘the Secret’ and ‘The Answer’ etc.  The article went on to criticise the practice of us dreaming and imagining that we can have anything as we are often disappointed when it doesn’t happen.  Things like making our New Year resolutions and being disappointed when we can’t stick to it.

I found  myself agreeing to certain points made in the article, however, I like ‘The Secret’ and have read a lot of self help books like ‘Think and Grow Rich’, ‘Feel the Fear and do it Anyway’ and ‘Powerful Changes’.  What I did disagree with was the article blaming the self help promoters for promoting these ‘you can pull anything out of thin air if you think about it hard enough’ concepts…if you can call it that…..as I think the article and author missed the point.

The whole concept about the universe getting in line with what you want and giving it to you is a miss conception and I believe, misunderstood by most people that read these books.  This visualisation is only a small part of the whole picture and what most fail to do and to continually work at is exactly that…..they must work at it!

They must work little by little, piece by piece towards that which they want.  It must be a clear vision with a clear goalwith a clear path and clear reward at the end.  It is not good enough to get sidetracked by the ‘You can have it today’ promoters; you must make a plan, stick to it and not deviate from it unless you absolutely have to!  (eg: life threatening).  Then and only then will the stars align and give you the thing you so desire.  

So…..that got me thinking about my vision and goals and my plan……more later!   ;-)

Look, I am relatively new to affiliate marketing and have spent a lot of time over the past few months online buying this and buying that to try to pay for the increasing bills that come in each month.  To date NONE OF IT HAS WORKED.  Well that’s not the complete truth, some of the things I have tried has cost me quite a bit of cash, things like Google PPC and AdSense – as a result I am a bit out of pocket.

All the”guru’s” seem to have the same theme, get a website or blog, build a list, market to that list, make tons of cash!  Easy for them to talk!  I can barely register a domain name let alone build or set up a website!

None of these guru’s have told me the nuts and bolts on the “how”!  It seems like I have thrown good cash after good cash down the drain when I should have been spending this cash on the bills!

Well, I have decidedenough is enough and to try and get on with it.  I have read enough to have an idea of how I want to start.  It’s time to start wondering from idea to idea and work on a few thinkgs until I get a result because if i keep on doing the same old thing then I will get the same old result……broke with a job.

Over the past few months I have found a few guys – I am reluctant to call them “Guru’s”, that have products that might just do it for me!  Anyway, I hope that I can keep you all entertained with how I go……at least you will know that I WILL try to sell you stuff and you will know what wont work!  Wish me luck!
